French History

Article 1 French history.
French originated from Latin and Gaulish languages.

One of the Germanic Tribes named "The Franks", made and shaped this language that many people modernly speak.

The Franks were a group of Germanic people that lived near the Rhine-River that established a powerful kingdom in Gaul(Modern-day France)during the 5th century. They named their land, "France". They ruled over the territory as the Merovingian and later Carolingian dynasties, eventually creating a large empire.

The language French is over 1200 years old, and was estimated to be created in 842 AD.
